I will not play again:West Ham key player has decided to quit due to…

Jarrod Bowen is a “Liverpool player” and West Ham have no hope of keeping hold of him, according to Tim Sherwood.

The Hammers beat Wolves on 9 December with goals from Tomas Soucek and a stunning solo effort from Bowen.

The Englishman is widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s top wingers, drawing interest from big clubs. Liverpool have had a long-standing eye on the 27-year-old, though a move is yet to materialise.

Sky Sports pundits praised Bowen’s recent performances, with former Tottenham player Tim Sherwood stating, “He’s a Liverpool player” in his eyes.

He said live on Soccer Saturday (14 December, 1.03pm): “By the way, Jarrod Bowen, West Ham ain’t keeping hold of him are they… What a player that kid is”.

Michael Dawson also weighed in, saying: “I played with Jarrod. He is carrying West Ham. He has been so influential for them since they signed him from Hull City, and what a signing he’s been”.

When asked if Bowen showed this level of potential back then, Dawson admitted: “Probably not, no. You look at him now, I think he could go and play in the Champions League”.

Jarrod Bowen is already a cult hero at West Ham

The right winger signed a new contract last year, committing to West Ham until 2030, despite constant transfer speculation.

He’ll forever be entrenched in the club’s history with his unforgettable Conference League final goal against Fiorentina in 2023.

However, after a rocky start to the season, some fans have expressed sympathy for him. A few even suggesting he should consider leaving the club for his own good.

Although the East London club secured a win against Wolves Julen Lopetegui remains under immense pressure. Football Insider revealed he could be just one game away from being sacked.

If the struggles continue and result in another mid-table finish, fans might understand if Bowen decides it’s time to move on.
