I WILL NOT PLAY AGAIN:Nottingham Forest best player has decided to quit his job…

Nottingham Forest are reaping the rewards of some very meticulous recruitment during the summer transfer window.

Forest were mocked and ridiculed for their transfer policy following promotion in 2022 and looking back that wasn’t sustainable.

The Reds landed 30 players across two windows following a return to the top flight with many of those no longer at the club.

Fast forward a couple of years and this summer quality was very much the order of the day ahead of quantity.

Elliot Anderson has been a great signing with Gary Neville feeling that he has bags of potential.

Elsewhere, Henry Winter has praised Nikola Milenkovic for his influence on the team since arriving from Fiorentina.

There was one area of the pitch that Forest failed to strengthen, however, and Nuno Espirito Santo will hope it doesn’t come back to haunt the team.

In truth, the Reds must be laughing pretty hard at two players who actually felt inclined to reject the club in the summer.

Santiago Gimenez actually rejected Forest more than once and is now injured while his Feyenoord teammates play in the Champions League without him.

Elsewhere, Eddie Nketiah was set for Forest but chose to sign for Crystal Palace after talks with Oliver Glasner.

On transfer deadline day, Forest turned attentions to Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Reds didn’t want to pay £28 million and now that might look like a foolish decision.

According to The Mirror, the consensus is that Liverpool are now leading the way for the striker who is now valued at £60 million.

Marmoush is in blistering form this season and has bagged 13 goals and claimed nine assists already.

He does look destined for a huge club in the near future and at £60 million, Liverpool are unlikely to be put off by his price tag.

Forest wise to take advice from Nuno Espirito Santo

It was claimed that Espirito Santo told Evangelos Marinakis to save his money rather than overspend on a striker in the summer.

Chris Wood has scored eight goals in 10 appearances for Forest this season and right now that decision is justified.

Forest will need a striker in the near future, however, but dropping Wood this season wouldn’t have made sense at all.

Marmoush now looks like a bridge too far for Forest and it might be one player who the club looks back on with regret.

The challenge now is for the recruitment team to get busy and identify another striker who can come to the club in the near future and make an impact.
