VAR officials for Dynamo vs Rangers ‘ARRESTED’ for stealing road sign while drunk and stripped of match duties

UEFA have reportedly been forced to replace the VAR officials for Rangers’ clash with Dynamo Kyiv at short notice – because the men have been arrested for stealing a ROAD SIGN while drunk.

Philippe Clement and his team are in Poland for the Champions League third qualifying round first leg and looking for a win that could reignite their start to the season after a stuttering draw against Hearts at the weekend. Dynamo’s home game is being played in Lublin, Poland due to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, while Rangers are hosting next week’s second leg at Hampden, with Ibrox not yet ready due to a delayed steel shipment.

As if all that chaos wasn’t enough, it’s now bizarrely being reported that the two VAR officials for the game have been removed from their duties. TVP SPORT say the pair were arrested at 2am, having been caught by police carrying a stolen road sign while drunk.

The report states that Bartosz Frankowski and Tomasz Musial were two of three individuals apprehended with the former set to serve as VAR and the latter to be his assistant. The named referees are no longer listed as part of the officiating crew for the match and will be replaced by two other Polish officials, Tomasz Kwiatkowski and Pawel Malec.
