UNBELIEVABLE NEWS;Rangers confirm Daniel Moyes as Philip Clement replacement
David Moyes will have to accept a huge drop in wages if he is to replace Philippe Clement at Rangers, according to Jonny McFarlane.
The Rangers Review journalist believes that he should be the candidate the Ibrox outfit consider if they are planning on sacking the Belgian.
Gers find themselves nine points off the top of the table after losing 2-1 to Aberdeen on 30 October.
Speaking on the news outlet’s YouTube channel on 31 October, McFarlane said at 10:13 am: “How many of them are available on a whim for half a season? Really, really difficult.
“I just don’t know what the right course of action is on that front.
“The one name that would stand out to me that I think if Clement was to depart, people would say it’s unrealistic, but I think he’s 61 now. He’s been in the Premier League for a long time. He’s won a trophy and got a taste for it, a European trophy and that’s David Moyes.
“I would definitely be going to him first and saying, ‘Davey, you fancy something a little bit different?’
“It might be completely unrealistic as David Moyes would not accept the drop in wages. A huge drop in wages. But sometimes in life, people fancy a challenge.”
David Moyes would be an absolute coup for Rangers
Moyes is a seasoned manager with extensive experience in the Premier League and he could be an ideal appointment for Gers as his track record includes transforming clubs like Everton, where he achieved unprecedented success by securing Champions League play-offs qualification, showcasing his capability to elevate teams beyond expectations.
His tenure at West Ham, where he won the Europa Conference League, highlights his knack for winning silverware, something Rangers would crave to reclaim their dominance in Scottish football.
