Tottenham goalkeeper scores stunning FA Cup injury-time equaliser
Latest Tottenham news with Josh Keeley continuing to excel on loan at Leyton Orient
Tottenham goalkeeper Josh Keeley has been enjoying a superb loan spell at Leyton Orient, but his performances hit another level on Saturday afternoon. Having kept three League One clean sheets since his temporary switch, Keeley has become a fan favourite at Brisbane Stadium.
Orient sit 21st in the League One table but focus was elsewhere over the weekend with their FA Cup second round clash against Oldham Athletic taking priority. After beating Boreham Wood on penalties in the previous round, they were drawn against non-league opposition for a spot in the illustrious third round.
Manny Monthe had given Oldham the lead and with the tie well into the final minutes, Orient looked to be facing an exit until Keeley, of all people, stepped up. With the goalkeeper up for a set-piece deep into added time, he rose highest to nod home expertly.
His goal took the game into extra-time with Orient then missing a penalty to take the lead. The hosts then had a goal disallowed for offside but found a late winner through Sonny Perkins to advance.
Goalkeepers have become quite the trending topic to do with Tottenham recently following confirmation of Guglielmo Vicario’s serious ankle injury. As such, Fraser Forster was deployed for the Europa League clash against Roma and made a number of excellent saves.
