TEMPORARILY:Patrick Stewart is the part time Clement replacement as Rangers look…f..
Rangers will name former Manchester United chief Patrick Stewart as the new chief executive officer, Rangers Review reports.
According to the news outlet’s website [24 November], Stewart will be the latest arrival at Ibrox alongside Malcolm Offord, who is set to join the Glaswegian outfit as club chairman, replacing the long-departed John Bennett.
The Light Blues have operated without a permanent CEO since James Bisgrove left the role earlier this year, but the new look hierarchy is beginning to take shape at Ibrox.
Rangers end prolonged search for new Ibrox CEO
While the announcement of a new CEO at Rangers was believed to be only “weeks away”, the supporters will be relieved to see swift action taken to steady the ship.
Nils Koppen was promoted to technical director after he was appointed as director of football at the start of the year, and he, alongside Stewart and Offord, will shape the new era at Ibrox.
However, the trio will have a daunting task in helping the side bridge the ever-widening gap to Scottish Premiership rivals Celtic and, perhaps more importantly, addressing the ongoing concerns regarding Philippe Clement’s leadership.
The Belgian fell further behind in the SPFL following the 1-1 draw against Dundee United on Saturday [23 November] – it is only a matter of time before he receives his marching orders at Ibrox; it is no longer plausible for Clement to resume his duties.
