Wright had been heavily linked with a move away from Ibrox with multiple English sides like Sheffield Wednesday showing an interest [Daily Record].

The wide man had started games under Philippe Clement to begin the season so a sale potentially came as a surprise to some supporters.

The deal went through on Deadline Day with the Gers bringing in Nedim Bajrami as a potential replacement option.

It is safe to say that the Scot has begun life for his new side in dream circumstances, scoring a last-gasp winner at St Andrews against Wigan Athletic.

He has become an instant hero for the Blues after potentially being underappreciated towards the end of his spell with Rangers.

Fans will wish him well for his new club and will likely be happy with selling him for a positive fee and bringing someone else in, in a deal that makes sense for all parties.
