SHOCKING NEWS;Sean Dyche announces the return of former player few minutes ago

Everton still need to add some more stars to their squad before the transfer window slams shuts, but there is a very real fear that this could not happen.

After all, Sean Dyche has been vocal in publicising the club’s dire financial position, with Kevin Thelwell trying his best to find a workaround, but thus far failing.

He has added some strength in a few key positions, but they are quite clearly lacking depth in both full-back spots, centre-back, midfield, and out wide.

Frustratingly, there was one easy option that the Toffees could surely have taken to solve the latter issue, although it might not have provided the injection of pace they are craving.

Instead, though, they would have welcomed a world-class technician back to Goodison Park, much to the delight of the fanbase.

James Rodriguez finally decides on his future

Taking to X, as he so often does, Fabrizio Romano was unsurprisingly on hand to break the news that one former Everton star had finally made a decision on his future.

And whilst normally most Evertonians could care less about what their past players are doing now, James Rodriguez is a special case.

He remains revered on Merseyside, like some kind of deified enigma, having waltzed onto the scene, stunned in a year ravaged by COVID, and then departed just as quickly and quietly. Like it never happened.

And yet, the Colombian international still clearly has an affinity for the club despite it having been two years since his departure, and given he never once played in front of a full Goodison Park.

James Rodriguez even hinted at an Everton comeback earlier this year.

Alas, that seems like nothing more than a dream now, with Romano confirming the inevitable: ‘James Rodriguez, on the verge of joining Rayo Vallecano as official bid has been sent today. Contract until June 2025 plus option for one more season. Almost there.’
