SHOCKING NEWS;Sean Dyche announces the return of former player

Alan Myers has admitted he can only see Dominic Calvert-Lewin exiting Everton if the Blues can secure a last-minute striker transfer.

The England international has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Goodison Park and has attracted interest from several clubs including Newcastle United ahead of the transfer deadline [TBR Football, 25 August].

Sean Dyche has admitted that the Blues will have to consider a reasonable offer for the forward if it arrives and Sky Sports journalist Myers thinks he could be sold late in the window, on one condition.

Writing on X on Wednesday (28 August) he said: “I expect at least two in, Mangala and Nuamah probably two out.

“I can only see DCL going if we get a replacement but let’s see, as we know anything can happen.”

Will Dominic Calvert-Lewin exit Everton ahead of Goodison Park transfer deadline?

While Calvert-Lewin has proven to be a divisive figure across his career when it comes to both pundits and supporters, every Everton fan will agree that he is the Blues most reliable source of goals currently.

The step down from the Englishman to a striker like Beto or Youseff Chermiti is rather dramatic. While all three of the Toffees’ frontmen have been anything but prolific, Calvert-Lewin is the only one to show that he is capable of that.

Now that he is heading into the final months of his Blues contract, the Toffees will have a decision to make if a late bid arrives. This is their last chance to cash in on one of their most valuable assets before his value drops severely.

If the money offered by any club this late in the window is enough to help the Blues recruit a new number nine, they would seriously have to consider it.
