Shocking News:Rangers must sign Lawrence Shankland in January after what Keith Jackson said
Rangers have found themselves on the back foot on more than one occasion this season.
Their 3-0 loss against Celtic in the Old Firm and their 4-1 destruction courtesy of Lyon in the Europa League are just two examples of the Gers falling below par this term.
Before their game against the Ligue 1 outfit, things were starting to look up for Philippe Clement and his men.
Of course, they managed to get back to winning ways against St Johnstone with a 2-0 victory but the gulf in quality between the Gers and the Scottish minnows is staggering.
Although they managed to triumph, the Gers still seemed to lack a bit of firepower in their attack.
Cyriel Dessers was taken off and replaced by Hamza Igamane in the second half of the clash and according to Keith Jackson (Daily Record), he showed “simmering frustration” about being hooked.
The Daily Record journalist said how it is a “huge problem” for the Gers that the harder he tries the more his touch seems to desert him and the focal point between midfield and attack is lost.
Hence, why, it makes sense for Clement to reignite his interest in Lawrence Shankland in the January transfer window.

Rangers need to sign Lawrence Shankland in January
Rangers were linked with a move for the Hearts talisman [HITC, 3 September] throughout the summer and even dating back to last January have been credited with an interest.
The Jambos have found themselves in a bit of a predicament this term with the side currently sat rock bottom of the Scottish Premiership.
Shankland hasn’t found his goalscoring boots as quickly as he did last term as the Scotsman only has one goal to his name across all competitions.

However, with his contract expiring at the end of the season and his likely desire to exit Tynecastle, a move might not set Clement too far back in terms of the fee required.
Although this is all ifs, buts and maybes for now, a transfer like this could easily come to fruition and turn around the fortunes of the Gers if they choose to take the plunge.
