SHOCKING NEWS:Philippe Clement loses a key player to JANUARY transfer windows….
Philippe Clement has finally officially confirmed the world’s worst-kept Rangers secret, that Ibrox Noise has been reporting, potentially going back months:
The Romanian playmaker, who returned to a Rangers shirt on Monday in a B team friendly, has been pretty clear for the best part of a year that he intended to initially stay in Spain, which later morphed into a general departure from Ibrox to anywhere.
And Clement announced Hagi and his agent had confirmed with Rangers’ boss preseason their position:
In short, Hagi and his agent confirmed they wanted to move on, Rangers and Clement agreed completely, and that was that.
Hagi is now back in Scotland working on his fitness and his agent is said to be working on a deal with Italian giants Fiorentina but in reality it doesn’t matter where the ex-Genk man goes, Rangers desperately want his £22,000 wages off the bill and Rangers will be thrilled to make back what was paid – around £3M.
Hagi’s terrible season in Spain definitely contributed towards Clement’s disinterest in him, Alaves had absolutely no intention of making the deal permanent after the Romanian failed to shine then completely lost his place with the LaLiga side.
That in itself wasn’t good enough and the manager had no inclinations towards him.
So Hagi, like Todd Cantwell, will leave, as soon as a buyer is found.
