SHOCKING NEWS;Newcastle plan to accept Miguel Almiron offer

Newcastle United are planning to accept an offer for Miguel Almiron in January in an attempt to raise funds for reinvestment in their squad.

This is according to former Man United, Sunderland and West Ham scout Mick Brown, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the decision has already been made to let the Paraguay international leave if they receive bids in January.

Almiron has played just 30 minutes from three appearances in the Premier League so far this season and both of his starts so far have come in the Carabao Cup.

Jacob Murphy and Harvey Barnes have been the preferred options in his position, with his influence on the first team growing less by the game.

It is also said that any money made from the 30-year-old’s sale will be reinvested into the squad, with the recruitment team lining up options at right-wing.

One of those options is Leroy Sane, as Brown previously told Football Insider that the club are pushing to get a deal for the Bayern Munich winger over the line.

The right-wing position has been a cause for concern under Howe given his lack of options, but Almiron’s sale could open up the opportunity for a new signing.

Newcastle United make Miguel Almiron transfer decision

Almiron has made over 200 appearances since moving to Newcastle from Atlanta United in 2019, but there is a feeling their ambitions have now moved beyond the level at which he is capable of performing.

Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, insisted the Magpies would look to move the winger on given concerns about his efficiency and consistency.

Yes, that’s one I’ve heard they’re looking to do and get a deal done,” he told Football Insider.

“He doesn’t feature regularly in their team any more, under Eddie Howe.

“He was always a bit of a bright space and he looks electric at times but he’s not consistent or efficient enough to play regularly at the top level.
