Shocking News:Mohammed Kudus inadvertently adds millions to West Ham United price
West Ham United can command a higher transfer fee for Mohammed Kudus with Ghana on the brink of missing the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Black Stars suffered a shock 2-0 loss to Sudan in their AFCON 2025 qualifying group, which leaves them second-bottom of the pile with just two points from their four games so far.
Leaders Angola, who Ghana face next, have already sealed their passage to the December 2025 tournament in Morocco, while Sudan are now five points clear of Kudus’ side with just two games left.
With Kudus now looking set to be available for the entirety of next season – and not miss large chunks of December and January – his transfer value in the summer window could sky-rocket.
West Ham can now extract maximum value for Mohammed Kudus
Kudus has been roundly slammed by the Ghanaian media for his below-par performance in the defeat, and failure to win their last two games will see the West African country miss the 2025 AFCON.
However, that could play to the Irons’ advantage; maybe not on the pitch itself given how talented the London Stadium faithful know Kudus is, but certainly in terms of their bottom line in the transfer market.
Since arriving in East London for £40m in 2023, Kudus’ exceptional form has led to links with some of the sport’s biggest teams, with even Real Madrid reportedly rearing their heads [Charles Taylor, 22 August].
However, few clubs would want to play top-dollar this summer for a player who could miss up to five weeks of next season, particularly the likes of Liverpool given English football’s packed winter schedule.

But with Ghana in line to miss next year’s tournament and be available for the entire 2025-26 campaign, the upcoming summer window may be the best time for the Hammers to exact maximum value for him.
Supporters will not want that to be the case, of course, but David Sullivan will no doubt be aware that there is now extra millions on his price tag.
