SHOCKING NEWS;Everton vs Newcastle English Premier League kick-off time has been rescheduled recently due to
EVERTON fans will have hit the bar to drown their sorrows after keeper Jordan Pickford’s crossbar calamity condemned them to the most painful of derby defeats.
Losing in the sixth minute of stoppage time must have been devastating for the Toffees, particularly after creating the better chances against their more illustrious neighbours.
But they can’t afford to feel sorry for themselves with Newcastle coming calling for an intriguing midweek encounter.
Everton deserved at least a point in the derby and had Divock Origi not scored that freak goal in the dying seconds then Marco Silva’s side would have racked up a third successive clean sheet.
With Newcastle coming off a blank in their 3-0 hounding by West Ham at St James’ Park it could pay to back the Toffees for another shut-out. Everton are just 4/7 to win with 888 Sport but doubling it with a clean sheet increases the odds to 31/20.
Rafa Benitez will have Newcastle set up to frustrate so it may take Silva’s men time to break them down. That lends appeal to the 7/2 on offer for draw half-time/Everton full-time with 888 Sport while both teams not to score also looks good at 4/5.
If Newcastle, who are 5/1 outsiders with 888 Sport, are to get on the scoresheet then it’s likely to be Salomon Rondon.
The big striker is 17/2 for first scorer and 7/2 for anytime scorer but I’ll be sticking with Everton players in the goalscorer markets.
Richarlison is the favourite at 18/5 for first scorer and 13/10 for anytime scorer but I’ve a hunch that Glyfi Sigurdsson will make the difference.
With Newcastle defending deep, a goal may come from distance and few players are more deadly than the Icelandic star from outside the box.
Sigurdsson is 5/1 to break the deadlock with 888 Sport and good value at 2/1 for a goal at any time in the 90 minutes.
