SHOCKING NEWS;Celtic key player announces  five-year deal due to..

Celtic’s squad has undergone quite a few changes this summer already. Of course, the biggest one was the retirement of Joe Hart, who had been the club’s number one between the posts for the previous three seasons. On the other hand, the likes of Sead Haksabanovic, Rocco Vata, Oh Hyeon-gyu and Benjamin Siegrist have left the club on a permanent basis in order to pursue their careers elsewhere.

There have been notable arrivals as well. Kasper Schmeichel has been brought in as a free agent to take Hart’s place in the team and he impressed with his dispay against Manchester City in pre-season. Hopefully, it is a sign of things to come. Viljami Sinisalo has also been signed, from Aston Villa for a transfer fee believed to be around £1 million. The hope is that he can develop into the starting goalkeeper in the future.

Celtic are believed to be on the verge of completing another signing as well. But in this case, he won’t exactly be a fresh face to the fans.

As reported by Mais Futebol, Celtic and Benfica have been negotiating the permanent transfer of Paulo Bernardo for around three weeks. Now, the deal is finally done. The Portuguese club will receive €3 million and he will sign a five-year contract with the Hoops. In the next few days, the transfer should become official.

Celtic reportedly set to announce five-year deal

Bernardo spent the previous season on loan at Celtic. And he clearly impressed enough for the club to make a move to sign him on a permanent basis.

Bernardo was a starter for Celtic when everybody was fit and available. But Callum McGregor and Reo Hatate’s fitness issues meant that he ended up playing a decent bit of first-team football.

Celtic were believed to have a £6 million buyout clause included in the loan deal. But it looks like they are set to sign the midfielder for a significantly lower transfer fee.
