Shocking News:Kyogo decided not to play again due to…
Atlanta Utd have reportedly turned their attention to a former Celtic striker as they explore Kyogo alternatives.
An MLS insider has revealed that interest in the Celtic man has ‘cooled’ which will come as music to the ears of the Hoops faithful. He states that while the club still hold an interest in the Japan international, they’ve switched their focus elsewhere and it is a name all too familiar with the Scottish champions, who is one of the two options. Odsonne Edouard has now been namechecked as a potential arrival alongside Middlesbrough forward Emmanuel Latte Lath, with the capture of either described as a ‘huge deal’.
Ex Hoops boss Ronny Deila is the man in the hot seat at Atlanta as they bid to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season getting up and running. The Kyogo saga took a fresh twist earlier in the week when the MLS were forced to break their silence and apologise over a bizarre claim that a transfer had taken place In a statement, the MLS said: “Major League Soccer’s website mistakenly posted an article that named the wrong player as having signed with an MLS club. The article was immediately removed and corrected. MLS extends its sincere apologies to the impacted parties.”
Elsewhere, one man who has had his name linked with Celtic is FREE to leave Chelsea. Speaking ahead of the Blues’ FA Cup tie with Morecambe, boss Enzo Maresca confirmed Carney Chukwuemeka will be allowed to seek a fresh challenge. He said: “Carney won’t be included. More or less the decision is like Chilwell and Cesare Casadei. Cesare, probably Chilwell and Carney, they are the same situation.
“It’s something that I said at the beginning that Carney is a good player. But we have so many midfield players that he will struggle to get minutes with us. Probably for him the best solution is to go and get minutes. So he won’t be involved in our game.”
