Shocking News: Brendan Rodgers confirmed the suspension of Kyogo Furuhashi few minutes ago

Away from Celtic’s woes in the Champions League for a second and the speculation surrounding interest Kyogo Furuhashi arises once again.

The Japanese striker was reportedly on the list of Manchester City this summer as Pep Guardiola looked to beef up his front line for the new season ahead.

Kyogo has had a very successful three seasons at Celtic and it was said that the 29-year-old striker had a ‘desire’ to join Man City this summer.

But as it panned out, no move materialised and Kyogo remains at Celtic. However, it appears that Bournemouth also held a serious interest in the talisman as far back as 18 months ago.

And Mark Guidi has now shared the contents of the report and why The Cherries decided not to pursue the treble-winning Celtic Park hero.

Kyogo lacked ‘physicality’ for Bournemouth and the English Championship

It seems that Kyogo’s 77 goals and 17 assists for Celtic weren’t enough to tempt Bournemouth into a move and Guidi shares exactly why the English second-tier side didn’t make their move.

Guidi told The Go Radio Football Show, “I know, for example, Bournemouth looked at him about 18 months ago.

“They had a real look at Kyogo and the kind of reports where he was maybe lacking a bit of physicality to really produce week in, week out at that level

Guidi ‘absolutely certain’ Manchester City ‘considered’ Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi

And whilst the news headlines around Kyogo and Manchester City died down, Guidi confirmed that there was interest from the Premier League giants and that he was on a list of names Guardiola ‘considered’.

Guidi continued, “I also do think in terms of interest, I’m absolutely certain there was an interest from Manchester City in the summer
