Sean Dyche could decide to sell Dominic Calvert-Lewin at Everton in January, according to AsRomaLive.
The online outlet reports [24 November] that the England international’s departure in the upcoming transfer window could allow the Toffees to reinvest in reinforcement. Aston Villa and Newcastle are said to be interested in the 27-year-old, whose contract at Goodison expires at the end of the 2024/25 season.
Sean Dyche and Dominic Calvert-Lewin need to leave Everton
Along with Calvert-Lewin, Dyche should pack his bags as well after another abysmal performance by Everton in the 0-0 draw against Brentford on 23 November.
Despite having a one-man advantage for most of the game after Christian Norgaard picked up a red card for his foul on Jordan Pickford late in the first half, the Toffees were unable to get the three points. The Blues had 27 shots in the fixture, but none could beat Mark Flekken and find the back of the net.
Dyche’s pragmatic approach has seen the team struggle to break down oppositions, and it must’ve been infuriating for the Goodison faithful to see their side get worse after the sending-off. Calvert-Lewin looks to have gotten over his injury issues at Everton, but the Englishman has been underwhelming for a long time now at the Merseyside outfit.
In 12 Premier League appearances in the current campaign, the striker has found the back of the net just two times, showcasing his profligacy, and it’s time that the Toffees look for a successor.
Beto hasn’t made the most of his opportunities at the Blues, and Armando Broja has yet to show his talent at Goodison as he has been recovering from a fitness issue since moving from Chelsea.
Dyche’s dismissal is inevitable at this point, and the fans will hope the next manager who comes in will have a similar view of Calvert-Lewin and sell him.
