SAD News: Nottingham star refuses to sign a new deal and is determined to leave the club.
Nottingham Forest managed to hand Liverpool their first loss of the season in the Premier League, but that’s something Theo Walcott doesn’t seem to have realised.
Nuno Espirito Santo has got everyone in the Premier League on notice after his Nottingham Forest side’s electric start to the season.
Gary Neville predicts Forest will finish in the top half but could have an outside chance of Europe, having seen what Nuno achieved during his time at Wolves.
One of the things that will no doubt have a big impact on where we finish is the health and form of Chris Wood, as his goals have been one of the key ingredients.
However, it’s not just been the New Zealand international, as all over the field there have been contributors and that shows with the second best defence in the top flight.
Interestingly, Forest aren’t quite getting the credit they deserve from Theo Walcott, who made a bit of a mess up on Sky Sports recently.
Theo Walcott appears to discredit Nottingham Forest
It appears as if some pundits are still yet to take notice of Nottingham Forest and how well they’re performing this season.
After all, we are the only team to have beaten Liverpool up until this point.
This is something that Walcott appeared to have forgotten, as he made a statement on Arne Slot’s side that certainly wound up a few Nottingham Forest fans.
Speaking on Sky Sports ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Arsenal, Walcott stated that this is the first real test the Reds have had this season in the Premier League.
“What I’m intrigued to see today is the fact that Liverpool are gonna be tested for the first time this season. Not really faced anyone particularly strong.”
Nottingham Forest’s win over Liverpool
Nottingham Forest went to Anfield and handed Arne Slot his first defeat as Liverpool boss back in September.
Callum Hudson-Odoi bagged the goal and received praise from Ola Aina after his match-winning display, as he said ‘it’s what he does’.
Whilst we agree that typically you wouldn’t say Forest are on the same level on paper as Arsenal, it’s unfair to say that Liverpool haven’t been tested at all this season as they’ve already been defeated.
The Reds deserve some credit for keeping a clean sheet against one of the best attacks in the league, as Nuno Espirito’s game plan worked to perfection.
