SAD NEWS HE’S GONE, Rangers key player set to leave club immediately due to…

“Rangers need to be better in that market and that recruitment market and selling players. It’s just as if they sign a player, he doesn’t do well and then they just take whatever they can for him.”

Rangers must change things drastically to close the gap with Celtic

The revelations from the AGM regarding player sales underline the stark financial disparity between Gers and Celtic.

Tam McManus admits he was staggered amid the revelations from the Rangers AGM regarding player sales.

CFO James Taylor confirmed that the club had raked in just £810,000 from the sale of five players this summer.

The five players included Sam Lammers, Connor Goldson, Todd Cantwell, Robby McCrorie and Scott Wright – who was sold for a modest transfer fee.

McManus told PLZ Soccer on 6 December at 19:14: “I was staggered when I had seen that like most supporters.

“To see those five players particularly one that you paid £3million for to rake in £800 grand for those five players it’s incredible.

Generating only £810,000 from the sale of five players, including names like Lammers, who was signed for £3million, highlighting a significant shortfall in their player trading strategy.

This paltry sum compared to the investment in these players illustrates a failure in both recruitment and the ability to recoup value.

In contrast, Celtic have historically been more adept at player sales, generating substantial revenue which aids in maintaining their competitive edge.

For Rangers to bridge the gap with Celtic and reestablish themselves as a serious contender, there must be a dramatic overhaul in their approach to player trading.

In other Rangers news, the club aim to finalise the summer signing of a player they view as a long-term first-team regular.
