John Textor and Dan Friedkin securing joint ownership of Everton is a dream scenario which Farhad Moshiri and Toffees fans would surely be delighted with.
La Roma 24 reported on 12 August that almost a month after pulling out of their exclusivity agreement to buy the club from Moshiri, the Friedkin Group has another offer ready to purchase a 30 per cent stake.
Friedkin controlling 30 per cent of the club would provide a much easier deal for another long-standing ownership candidate – John Textor – who has reportedly entered negotiations for exclusivity with Moshiri [Alan Myers, 12 August].
The two American billionaires working in tandem to oversee operations at Goodison Park and the club’s new stadium would be the best of both worlds for Moshiri, Friedkin, Textor, and the Blues fanbase.
Dan Friedkin and John Textor takeover would transform Everton
Described by La Roma 24 as “a marriage that needs to happen”, Friedkin and Everton did look like it was all-but certain to work until the Roma owner backed out of his deal with Moshiri.
The Friedkin Group remain intertwined within the club’s complex finances having paid off a £158million loan to MSP Sports Capital [Kieran Maguire, 8 July], thus staying involved on the ownership front could be on the cards.

Likewise, Textor already has experience co-owning a Premier League side due to his 45 per cent stake in Crystal Palace, but he must reduce this to 10 per cent or below if he’s to take control at Goodison [Ed Aarons, 25 July].
The two joining forces to buy out Moshiri’s majority stake could be transformational across all levels for the Toffees, particularly with their groundbreaking move to Bramley-Moore Dock on the horizon.

The new stadium is expected to send matchday revenue through the roof [Kieran Maguire, 8 July], and with the potential combined financial strength of Friedkin and Textor behind them, Everton will finally be in a position to capitalise as the sleeping giant awakens.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are one of several clubs interested in signing an out-of-favour Barcelona striker this summer.
