Everton appear not to be close to any new signings following the addition of Jake O’Brien a week ago, according to Alan Myers.
The Sky Sports journalist responded to a fan via X on 5 August to indicate the transfer picture was “all quiet” currently at Goodison Park.

Myers had expected a left-back to be next on the agenda after centre-back O’Brien was confirmed on 30 July.
But after the linked free agent Ricardo Rodriguez headed to Real Betis for a medical [Fabrizio Romano, 3 August] it appears the Toffees are no closer to finding their sixth reinforcement of the summer.
Sean Dyche needs more Everton recruits after Jake O’Brien
The transfer window has been more eventful than some might have feared towards the end of last season.
Five incoming deals at this stage is a positive after permanent transfers for Iliman Ndiaye and Tim Ireogbunam and a pair of loan moves for Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom.
But as well as the hunt for a new left-back, amid injury concerns over Vitalii Mykolenko, Sean Dyche has been reported to be prioritising a move to fully replace Amadou Onana in central midfield.
Kalvin Phillips is potentially top of the Everton boss’ list but there is also interest in Chelsea’s Lesley Ugochukwu and Strasbourg’s Habib Diarra [Harry Watkinson, 2 August].

Adding a new name at each position and potentially a striker if Dominic Calvert-Lewin leaves would represent a solid window in itself.
But another major job remaining on the to-do list is keeping hold of star centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite, with sales tipped to be unavoidable within weeks if a new takeover deal isn’t lined up [Kieran Maguire, 31 July].
In other Everton news, there is a split at Goodison Park over whether another star man should now be sold.
