Heading the list of those squad players set to leave Rangers is Ecuadorean midfielder Jose Cifuentes.

 

Cifuentes signed for Rangers from LAFC last summer but struggled to adapt to life in Scotland and was farmed out on loan to Brazil and Cruzeiro in January.With that loan stint failing to reap any major rewards, Cifuentes is now closing in on a move to Greece and Aris Thessaloniki.

 

It is being widely reported in Greece that Rangers have struck a mandatory €5m (£4.2m) loan-to-buy deal that will see the club bank a substantial profit on the 25-year-old next summer.

 

Rangers are also hoping to offload wantaway midfielder Todd Cantwell.

 

The 26-year-old has no future at Ibrox with Turkish side Trabzonspor jetting out to meet the ex-Norwich City star last week.Philippe Clement was clear surrounding the weekend’s victory over Motherwell that Hagi is set to leave Rangers and nothing has changed in this regard.

 

Rangers have seen a number of players leave the club this summer, with John Lundstram, Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack, Kemar Roofe, Jon McLaughlin, Robby McCrorie, Connor Goldson and Sam Lammers already negotiating their exits.

Rangers remain on the hunt in a number of key positions in the squad but it’s clear any movement will depend on how quickly names are moved out of the club.

 

The Ibrox side also stand to bank around £3.7m if they can overcome Dynamo Kiev and reach the Champions League Playoff stages
