Rangers target jets out for medical with multi-million transfer agreed

Rangers target and Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark is set to jet out on 20 August and complete his medical at RB Salzburg, according to Sky Sports.

The Daily Record reported on 19 August at 15:58, that along with Gers, their arch rivals Celtic were also linked with the 19-year-old.

However, RB Salzburg have won the race to secure his services after reaching a £10million agreement with the Premier League side.

Rangers must sign a new midfielder in this transfer window

Signing a new midfielder is imperative and while it seemed Joan Jordan from Sevilla would be moving to Ibrox [Fernando Serrano], that deal is now not going ahead, per the Scottish Sun.

With the departure of experienced midfielders Ryan Jack, John Lundstram, and Steven Davis, Gers are facing a significant gap in their squad.

These players not only provided tactical acumen but also leadership on the pitch.

While Connor Barron’s signing represents a promising future investment, his youth means he’s more about potential than immediate impact.

Gers require a midfielder in their prime who can step into the role seamlessly, offering both experience and the ability to influence games from the outset.

This player would need to possess the physicality and tactical awareness to manage the rigours of the Scottish Premiership and European competitions, ensuring continuity in performance and team dynamics.

The urgency to secure such a signing before the transfer deadline is paramount to maintain a competitive edge, especially given the immediate need for a seasoned presence in midfield.

In other Rangers news, a major Ibrox development has emerged as Gers are in advanced talks for a new midfielder transfer.
