Newcastle United 16-year-old named as one of the Premier League’s best young talents

Newcastle United need more and more players to rise through their academy.

With the pressure of profit and sustainability, it is absolutely essential that Newcastle United produce their own talent.

They need to do that by getting talented kids into the academy at a very young age, or by buying teenagers from other clubs before they reach their potential.

The club will then be able to develop those players through coaching and loan spells, before either moving them into the first-team or selling them on for a huge profit. That is Paul Mitchell’s big idea when it comes to Newcastle United’s recruitment. That is the model he is going for.

And the Magpies continue to take steps towards that. Newcastle are set to sign Vakhtang Salia in 2025, who is a 17-year-old Georgian attacker.

Elsewhere, there was the summer arrival of Rory Finneran.

Newcastle teenager named alongside Premier League’s brightest young talents

During the summer transfer window, Newcastle United signed Rory Finneran from Blackburn Rovers.

The Irish midfielder is a major talent, and someone who actually made his senior debut for Blackburn at the age of 15-years-old.

Securing Finneran’s signature was a bit of a coup, as he is a young man with a lot of potential.

In fact, the Guardian have included Finneran in their ‘Next Generation 2024’ article, where they choose a player to watch from each Premier League club.

The 16-year-old is the Magpies’ representative, with Finneran confirming his move to Newcastle on July 31st.

He is very much one to watch, and is a player who could save Newcastle United a lot of money in the future.

It would be great to see him playing Premier League games alongside Lewis Miley in the future at St James’ Park, and he is another player who has previously been recognised by the Guardian.
