Los Angeles Lakers Urged to Make Trade Offer for Chicago Bulls Star. The Los Angeles Lakers have surprised a lot of people with their start to the season. Coming into the campaign, many had questioned whether they had enough in the tank to even get a guaranteed playoff spot. If they can keep on performing like this, they should. The Lakers are 10-5 right now, sitting in fourth in the West. Anthony Davis is playing at an MVP level while LeBron James is still averaging 24 points every night, just a month shy of his 40th birthday. The Lakers also seem to have a Rookie of the Year frontrunner in the form of Dalton Knetch, who is starting to establish himself as a starter already. Everything seems to be falling in place for the Lakers. They just need a bit more to be considered genuine contenders. Could that come in the form of a Chicago Bulls veteran? Zach LaVine is someone the Lakers have been heavily linked with lately. But his Bulls teammate, Nikola Vucevic, could be an option worth considering as well. Vucevic has made a stellar start to the season. He is averaging 20.2 points and 9,8 rebounds while shooting a career-best 57.7% from the field and 46.1% from three-point range.
Even if that efficiency drops over the course of the season, that leaves plenty of room for Vucevic to be an important contributor for the Lakers. In the Bleacher Report article ‘1 Trade Every NBA Team Should Propose Right Now’, Dan Favale suggested a trade that would see the Lakers receive Vucevic while the Bulls get D’Angelo Russell, Christian Wood and 2025 second-round pick (via Clippers) in return.
The Lakers need a big man right now and Vucevic would fill that need. Of course, at 34 years old, he is not going to be a long-term solution for the organization but as long as LeBron is in town, they will be a ‘win now’ team.
