Leeds superstar: I think my presence is no longer needed am leaving..
Leeds United captain Ethan Ampadu risked being ruled out longer had it been a Grade 3 full rupture in his ligament, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that the 10-week timeline is because the Wales international did not require surgery on the damaged lateral collateral ligament.
Daniel Farke revealed that the doctors stated that he would need conservative treatment and thus no need for an operation.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Ampadu: “This sounds like he damaged the lateral collateral ligament (LCL) of the knee but won’t need surgery as it’s not a Grade 3 full rupture.
“Had it been that, it would’ve been a more significant blow and he would’ve been out longer.
“Currently, the total timeline looks to be around 10 weeks or so.“
Ethan Ampadu’s absence is a huge blow for Leeds United
Losing Ampadu is a huge blow for the club as he’s not just a leader because of the armband but he often leads by example.
He appears to be someone who sets the right example for the other players behind the scenes and that’s reflected on the pitch as well.
The 24-year-old is not expected to be back before January and that’s going to be a bitter pill to swallow for the Whites.
In other Leeds United, an update has emerged on the club’s quest to finalise the Cheikhou Kouyate transfer.
The Whites have discussed a short-term contract with the 34-year-old until the end of the season.
Jacobs wrote on X: “Leeds are exploring a deal to sign Cheikhou Kouyaté on a free transfer.
“Not a done deal as of tonight despite reports of a medical exam.
