- Latest Man City Injury News And Expected Return Dates: Updates On Kevin De Bruyne, Nathan Ake And 2 Others
Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has now missed the last five games with a pelvis injury.
There was hope that the Belgian would return before the international break but he has had a couple of setbacks in his recovery.
Manager Pep Guardiola has played down the seriousness of the injury, despite the fact that he has also withdrawn from international duty for Belgium’s Nations League fixtures against Italy and France:
“It’s not a big issue, but he still doesn’t feel good, we’re managing his fitness issues. It’s better, less minutes, but the players don’t say that. They want to play every single game. That’s nice. That’s fine. But sometimes the body sends warnings.”
Expected Return Date: Sunday 20th October v Wolves (a)
Nathan Ake is back training on the grass and Guardiola expects the Dutchman to be available after the international break.
The centre-back hasn’t been seen in action since sustaining a thigh problem whilst playing for the Netherlands.
Ake had to be substituted just before halftime during the 2-2 draw against Germany in the Nations League last month.
Guardiola says Ake generally needs more time than others to find peak fitness but he should, at least, make the bench for the trip to Molineux in a fortnight.

Oscar Bobb is still undergoing rehabilitation after suffering a leg fracture just before the start of the season.
The Norwegian international picked up the injury in training prior to the opening-day win against Chelsea.
Bobb underwent surgery and his estimated recovery time means he could be out until near the end of the year.
A comeback during the Christmas period (or slightly before) has been pencilled in.
Expected Return Date – Thursday 26th December v Everton (h)
Rodri has had an operation to repair the ligament and meniscus damage that he sustained during the 2-2 draw against Arsenal last month.
It was confirmed last week that the midfielder had been ruled out for the rest of the season after picking up an ACL injury.
Rodri’s lengthy rehab will now begin. ACLs generally take at least 9 months to recover from so a return in June is anticipated.
That should put the Spaniard on course to be back for pre-season, barring any setbacks in his recovery.
