Kendrick Lamar’s Feud With Drake Has Now Produced The Biggest Rap No. 1 Ever

When Kendrick Lamar and Drake reignited their years-long feud earlier this spring, many fans of both musicians, as well as casual observers, got in on the fun. The two musicians released several tunes, with each one aiming to insult and demean the other, while also showcasing the talents of the artist behind the cut.

Lamar and Drake both ended up scoring big hits on the Billboard charts with their diss tunes. Months after the battle died down—at least for the moment—one of the songs that played a major role in the musical fight has made history.

On this week’s edition of the Hot Rap Songs chart, “Not Like Us” is steady at No. 1. Lamar’s single, which takes some pretty big swings at Drake, has now led Billboard’s ranking of the most-consumed rap cuts in the country for 21 frames.

As it racks up its twenty-first nonconsecutive frame on top of the Hot Rap Songs tally, “Not Like Us” resets an all-time record. Lamar’s single now ranks as the longest-running No. 1 ever on the chart.

Last frame, “Not Like Us” was tied as the track with the most frames spent atop the Hot Rap Songs ranking. Lamar matched Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road,” which held onto that record with its 20 weeks at No. 1 for several years.

“Not Like Us” has no more competition for this spot in the chart annals, but that doesn’t mean the song is done. Lamar will likely continue to dominate the list for several more weeks, if not months. His track is still performing spectacularly well, and not just in the rap field, so it could go on to add many more frames in charge before it finally falls from the summit for good.

Lamar currently rules three Billboard charts with his Drake diss. “Not Like Us” is happy at No. 1 on the Rap Streaming Songs and Rap Airplay lists at the moment, as well as the Hot Rap Songs ranking.
