JUST-IN; Manchester City has signed Celtic best player-Kyogo Furuhashi
Celtic will be delighted with the start they have made to the 24/25 season. The Hoops have won all seven of their games so far across all competitions while conceding just two goals and none in the Premiership. That includes a Glasgow Derby against the Rangers and their Champions League opener with Slovan Bratislava.
One player who scored against both the Rangers and Slovan Bratislava is Kyogo Furuhashi. The Japanese forward might not be scoring at the rate he was under the management of Ange Postecoglou, but he remains a key part of Celtic’s success.
Unfortunately for Celtic, it looks like Kyogo’s performances have caught the eye of one of the biggest clubs in world football. He was linked with Manchester City towards the end of the summer transfer window.
The move did not happen and Kyogo remained at Celtic. But that does not mean that Manchester City have ended their rumoured interest in the Japanese forward.
Manchester City step up interest in Celtic player
As reported by Fichajes, Manchester City have stepped up their interest in Kyogo. They sent scouts to watch his performance in the recent UEFA Champions League game against Slovan Bratislava.
The scouts must have had a mixed report regarding Kyogo from the game. He missed a couple of chances that he should have converted in the first half but was then at the right place, at the right time early in the second half to hand Celtic a two-goal cushion.
It is not hard to understand why Manchester City might want Kyogo. Erling Haaland is in fantastic form and scoring goals for fun. But the Citizens need a cover option for the Norwegian superstar following the departure of Julian Alvarez to join Atletico Madrid. Could the Celtic striker end up being his replacement in Pep Guardiola’s side?
