JUST-IN;Rangers confirm the return of former midfielder Ryan jack

Former Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack made his debut for his new club in Turkey in his first league appearance in seven months…and was booked within ten minutes of coming on.

The Scotland international has signed a deal with obscure Turkish second tier outfit Esenler Erokspor after leaving Ibrox in the summer.

He finally made his bow for his new club in a 2-1 win against Alagoz Holding Igdır FK.

Jack came on as a 62nd minute substitute but was shown a yellow card nine minutes later as his side won the game to move off the bottom of the table after their first win of the season.

The Istanbul club are managed by Mehmet Altıparmak who is now on his 19th managerial job.

Jack, 32, last played in a league game back in February in a 2-0 win over Livingston and his final appearance for Rangers was in their Scottish Cup win against Ayr United in March.

He played in Scotland’s two Euro 2024 warm-up games as a sub against Gibraltar and Finland but played no part in the Germany Finals.

That seventh minute winner, remarkably, was the first goal Jim Goodwin’s Dundee United team had conceded in three league matches.

“That is where the goal ultimately comes from; We were a little bit bare in the middle of the pitch and the frustrating thing is it actually comes from our throw-in,” Goodwin says, via PLZ Sports on YouTube.

“We need to make a tackle at some point, whether it’s a cynical foul or something to prevent Lawrence from entering the penalty box. That is the disappointing thing. When you play against Celtic or Rangers, we always speak about the first 15 minutes and staying in the game.
