JUST IN:BRENDAN RODGERS CONFIRMED A HEARTBREAKING CONTRACT DISMISSAL FEW MINUTES AGO

The transfer window may well be closed but that doesn’t mean deals still cannot be done be Celtic and other clubs in the country.

The free agent market is very much alive and if Brendan Rodgers was of a mind to, there are still quality players out there who could do a job for Celtic.

There are, of course, former Celtic players out there who are looking for new clubs and this week, two have made their next career move.

67 Hail Hail discussed yesterday how Celtic Invincible hero, Stuart Armstrong, made his move to MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps after a summer of searching.

And here, we now talk about how former Hoops goalkeeping talent, Vincent Angelini, has taken his career in a whole new direction as he signs for his third club since leaving Celtic in 2021.

Vincent Angelini moves to Saudi Arabia

Now the reason why this is a strange move is that moving to a Saudi club is generally done by players who are edging towards the end of their careers or players who are tempted by the money that is on offer.

Angelini, at just 20, has decided that his next move is to the cash-rich Saudi League as he joins Al-Riyadh on a free transfer until the end of this season.

The statement from the Saudi Pro-League club says, “Vincent Angelini has signed a contract with Riyadh FC for one season.

“The signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of Riyadh Club, represented by Riyadh Club’s CEO, Mr Turki bin Abdullah Al-Hamoudi.”

Vincent Angelini’s post-Celtic career

Angelini joined Watford on a free transfer in July 2021 after being linked to the likes of Manchester United and AC Milan.

After a short period at the club and no first-team appearances, the young goalkeeper left Watford to join Brentford on an 18-month contract in search of first-team football.

Again, Angelini made no appearances for The Bees and was released at the end of last season.

Now at Al-Riyadh, the youngster must now be looking to kick on and revive his fledgling career because he had a great future ahead of him at Celtic and if this move doesn’t work out, he must surely feel a tinge of regret at leaving Paradise.
