Igor Jesus transfer: Everton ‘want striker’ as they make move now
Everton could possibly sign Botafogo striker Igor Jesus in the winter transfer window, Graeme Bailey says.
The TBR Football journalist has revealed that the Toffees want to sign a new striker before 3 February and are interested in the Brazilian star.
Everton are said to have made their move for the 23-year-old and he could be available as the Blues look for attacking reinforcements everywhere.
Speaking to Everton News (23 January), Bailey said: “They do want another striker, they do. Igor Jesus is one they like, the Brazilian boy. Whether he’s willing to go there is another question.
“They are in for him, it’s a possibility. They’re asking after everyone. It’s no surprise the ones that Everton are asking about, West Ham are asking about as well, as these are players who might be available.”
The Toffees have not scored many goals in the Premier League in the current campaign, and the 27-year-old has been underwhelming.Everton are in a relegation battle and evidently need to add consistent goals to their ranks to boost their chances of survival, something they did in the huge win over Tottenham.
