Good news;Rangers are bringing him back finally..
Rangers winger Scott Wright could be on his way to leave Ibrox in the summer transfer window.
A host of senior players, including James Tavernier and Connor Goldson, have been linked with a move away from Ibrox, but it appears there could be more exits with Philippe Clement looking to make wholesome changes to the squad.
According to Darren Witcoop, the 26-year-old winger is almost certain to leave the Glasgow giants and he could move to join a Championship club.
The journalist posted on X on 23 July that three Championship clubs – Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County and Preston – have made an initial enquiry to sign him.
While these three clubs also have other targets, Wright is equally on their list. Overseas clubs are also keen to sign him.
Witcoop wrote on X: “Scott Wright due to leave Rangers this summer with the Championship likely destination. Sheffield Wednesday, Preston and Derby have all made enquiries.
“All clubs have other options but Wright on the list of targets. Interest also from overseas in the wideman.”
Scott Wright to certain to leave Ibrox this summer
Clement is on a mission to revamp the entire squad, which could backfire completely as we have seen in the past that too many new players need time to settle in and develop chemistry, resulting in poor performances initially.
The Gers boss is looking to add more quality players in the forward department and there is a high possibility that Wright may not remain at the club beyond the summer.
In the past few years, Wright has been treated as a mere squad player. He hasn’t been able to cement a regular starting place in the side, and only managed eight Scottish Premiership starts last season.
At the moment, it feels like tentative talks have taken place, but Rangers definitely will a decent transfer fee for the winger.
