GOOD NEWS:NBA Academy best player sign a two-years contract with Kentucky few minutes ago

Mark Pope and his Kentucky Wildcats staff have turned their attention to the class of 2025, as they’ll be looking to make some noise in their first full recruiting cycle.

The big board is starting to fill up, and some players are gaining more traction in Kentucky than others. But now we do have another name to add.

According to Jamie Shaw of On3, a Kentucky assistant was on hand in Rock Hill (SC) to check out 4-star center Mouhammad Sylla at the NCAA College Basketball Academy.

Alongside the Cats in attendance were head coaches from UCONN (Dan Hurley) and Oklahoma (Porter Moser), while assistants from Arkansas, Duke, Kansas, Florida State, and several others.

Sylla, a 6-foot-10 native of Senegal, has burst onto the scene recently and has already picked up a ton of buzz as a high-major prospect.

Here is what Shaw had to say about he performance at Rock Hill:

“His best skill, at least in this showing was perhaps the fact he was consistently around the ball,” Shaw writes. “He slides his feet well on defense, he was aggressive in the passing lanes, and he rebounded the ball strongly with two hands in traffic. Offensively, Sylla showed flashes. He knocked down a couple of mid-range pull-ups and he pushed the break, under control, and gave it up to get it back.”

Sounds like Sylla could be a recruit to watch over the next several months. The Cats have several other targets at the position they are in on, but if the upside is as high as it sounds for Sylla, he could end up seeing a major ranking bump over the next few updates.
