GOOD NEWS:Leeds United are set to welcome a super star…

Leeds United could be one of numerous clubs looking to sign Lewis O’Brien in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the central midfielder has been on Leeds’ radar for several years.

The Yorkshire giants attempted to sign him several years ago when he was playing for Huddersfield Town as Marcelo Bielsa was a fan of his, and the club came “very close” to making a deal happen.

The Whites could not secure a deal for the midfielder at that point, but they could turn their attention back to him in the upcoming window.

O’Brien is currently on loan in the MLA at LA FC, but his deal is set to expire in December and he will return to Nottingham Forest.

The midfielder had been deemed surplus to requirements at Forest, and there are a number of clubs interested in signing him when he returns.

O’Brien has thrived for LA FC, making 15 appearances for the club where he’s scored once and provided one assist.

Leeds could look to him to provide further depth to their central midfield options for the second half of this campaign.
