LEAGUE CUP DRAW UPDATE

There have already been shocks in the tournament with Championship side Falkirk’s 2-0 win over Hearts and Division Two’s Spartans’ 1-0 victory over top-flight Ross County.

 

The ballot is scheduled to commence around 5pm, but it could be pushed back if the match in the east end of Glasgow goes to extra-time or a penalty-kick shoot-out.

 

The last eight draw will be broadcast by the competition sponsors via their Premier Sports 1 channel. Subscribers will be able to live stream the draw via the Premier Player online.As well as Falkirk and Spartans, Aberdeen, Dundee, Rangers, Dundee United or St Mirren, Motherwell or Kilmarnock and, of course, Brendan Rodgers’ men or the Easter Road club will be in the mix.

The ties are due for the weekend of September 21/22.

Hoops gaffer Rodgers won the trophy in three successive season in his first stint at Parkhead, beating Aberdeen 3-0 (2016), Motherwell 2-0 (2017) and the Dons again 1-0 (2018).
