DONE DEAL;Everton manager is cleared to pursue a significant transfer target…

Everton are “very close” to completing the signing of Jesper Lindstrom, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed the Napoli winger is currently in Merseyside to complete his medical.

A deal for the 24-year-old is expected to be completed in the coming days, potentially by the end of this week.

Football Insider previously revealed that Everton will pay a £2million loan fee for the Danish winger.

The two clubs had been in talks over a swap deal that featured Vitaliy Mykolenko, but talks broke down as Sean Dyche is keen to keep the defender.

Following the £50million sale of Amadou Onana, Everton have money to spend as the club are confident of avoiding any PSR problems.

Everton will add depth by signing Jesper Lindstrom

Lindstrom has typically been a squad player throughout his time at Napoli, mainly being used as a substitute.

He’s made 29 appearances for the Italian giants but has only played 587 minutes throughout those.

Everton are lacking in wingers after Lewis Dobbin’s sale and Arnaut Danjuma returning to his parent club, which is why this position has been a priority for Dyche.

Football Insider revealed the Merseyside club are looking to make two key signings this summer to bolster their attacking options.

The club have already secured Jack Harrison’s return on loan from Leeds United.

West Ham could launch a bargain swoop for Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin, sources have told Football Insider.

The Irons are keen on the 27-year-old but have been put off by Everton’s demands.

But in a new twist, Football Insider revealed on Monday (22 July) that the Merseysiders could now be forced to consider offers for their star striker following the collapse of their takeover.

Everton are desperate not to let Calvert-Lewin run down the remainder of his contract and leave the club for free next year.
