GOOD NEWS:Everton fc confirmed the return of former best player finally..
Rory Jenning has been left astonished after a Newcastle United fan suggested Dominic Calvert-Lewin didn’t deserve a penalty in the clash between the Magpies and Everton.
Sean Dyche’s side played out a 0-0 draw with Eddie Howe’s Magpies at Goodison Park on Saturday (5 October) as Anthony Gordon saw a first-half penalty saved by Jordan Pickford.
The Toffees felt they deserved a penalty themselves when Dan Burn bundled into Calvert-Lewin in the penalty area and talkSPORT host Jennings was quick to ridicule one Newcastle fan who suggested it was a fair challenge.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Saturday (5 October, 20:45) the fan said: “I just wanted to go back to the penalty shout.
“I don’t want to dwell on it and when you’re saying it was a stonewall penalty and it was black and white, the only thing that was black and white was the Mags in the stadium.”
Jennings replied: “Wait, are you talking about Calvert-Lewin’s penalty here? You’re not going to say it wasn’t a penalty! Surely?”
The fan responded: “I am. I’m standing on business. It’s all about who owns that space. There’s an argument that Dan Burn owns that space at that moment in time.
“To say on one foot that’s going to be a stonewall penalty, I do not agree, especially with what he [Howard Webb] is trying to say moving forward. Just to reinforce that, Phil Jagielka said the same and he’s an Everton legend.”
Jennings hit back sarcastically saying: “Well if Phil Jagielka says it then how can we argue? There’s no debate anymore, don’t bother calling in, Phil Jagielka has spoken.
“I don’t care about directives and in this particular scenario, I don’t care about Phil Jagielka. There’s no way that Dominic Calvert-Lewin doesn’t deserve a penalty in that incident.
