GOOD NEWS:Brendan Rodgers approve the return of Moussa Dembele…

Many Celtic fans look upon Moussa Dembele with fondness after what he did for the club during his two-year spell at the club.

The big Frenchman was signed by Brendan Rodgers back in 2016 and he quickly became the Celtic supporters’ new hero.

A hattrick against Rangers in his first-ever Glasgow Derby immediately endeared Moussa Dembele to the Celtic support and the now Al-Ettifaq striker went from strength to strength.

In 94 appearances, Dembele hit 51 goals and in return, he got his big £20m move to Lyon in 2018. However, after his contract ran out at the Ligue 1 side, the former Celtic striker made a surprise move to Saudi Arabia where he has been plying his trade since 2023.

Dembele’s contract enters it’s final year

Dembele’s time at Al-Ettifaq has been a relatively successful period from a personal point of view. In 28 appearances for the Saudi club, he has scored 16 goals.

The French striker has had a very good start to this season scoring the only winning goals in Al-Etiffaq’s last two 1-0 wins over Al-Okhdood and Al-Shabab.

But now, as his contract enters its final year, Dembele’s future could come into focus as he will be able to start talking to clubs in January should Al-Etiffaq not offer him a new deal.

At just 28, Dembele is entering his peak years and he would be an excellent acquisition for any of the top clubs in Europe’s top .

It would be great to see him back on the European stage and mixing it with the cream of the continent’s best players because, in my view, like Jota, his talent is wasted in a league of poor quality.

Would Moussa Dembele return to Celtic?

What a move that would be. Dembele still holds Celtic close to his heart and he can be seen on social media from time to time sharing his love for the club.
