Good news: Two players will be coming back to Rangers

Rangers have agreed a deal to sign FC Twente centre-back Robin Propper, sources have told Football Insider.

The 30-year-old defender is now expected to have a medical imminently before completing a move to the Glasgow club.

Propper is set to replace Connor Goldson, who completed a move to Cypriot club Aris Limassol earlier in the transfer window.

The Dutchman will be Rangers’ ninth addition this window, following Vaclav Cerny, Hamza Igamane, Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, Liam Kelly, Connor Barron, and Oscar Cortes – who rejoined on loan with an obligation to buy in the summer – while Mohamed Diomande made his loan move permanent.

There will likely be more depatures at the Ibrox as manager Phillipe Clement oversees a massive rebuild at the club.

Football Insider revealed (July 28) that Jose Cifuentes has been told to find a new club.

Rangers are also working on more signings, with at least two attackers expected to join as well.

Rangers set to replace Connor Goldson with Robin Propper

Propper has been a mainstay in FC Twente’s first team since his move to the club back in 2021-22 – he has made 115 appearances and scored 11 goals for the Dutch club.

The defender had represented his country at Under-19 level but has yet to make a senior appearance for his country despite his good club form.

Rangers are in the market for a new defender following Goldson’s departure and believe that Propper can offer the necessary experience as they seek to wrestle the Scottish Premier League title away from rivals Celtic.

The Glasgow club are set to start their league campaign against Hearts on August 3rd.

In other news, Rangers have opened talk with Todd Cantwell replacement.
