Philippe Clement will be given more money by the Rangers hierarchy to spend on transfers should they qualify for the Champions League, according to Sahil Jaidka.

The Sky Sports journalist reported on 12 August that the club stand to make around 36million if they make it to Europe’s elite club competition.

Gers’ budget this summer was decided based on the Europa League and it would be an unexpected financial boost if they make it to the Champions League.

Jaidka wrote: “Rangers have set out their summer transfer budget based on qualifying for the Europa League. However, should they reach the Champions League – Clement will find himself with a lot more money to play with.

“The club have added nine players this summer with Robin Propper, Vaclav Cerny, Hamza Igamane, Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, Liam Kelly and Connor Barron joining. Meanwhile, Oscar Cortes – who returned on loan with an obligation to buy next summer – and Mohamed Diomande – who made his loan move permanent – have also

been signed. DEAL CLOSE – Rangers to accept bid for star man after HUGE twist.
