Good News: Leicester city best player has signed a new two-year contract.

Sevilla are already considering moving on from former Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho, according to a report in the Spanish media.

That’s according to AS who claim their sporting director, Victor Orta, is ‘urgently looking for a number 9’ in the next transfer window. However, they report that a limited budget means they will likely have to go for a loan.

They go on to describe Iheanacho as Orta’s ‘big attacking bet’ after the Nigerian ended a seven-year stay at the King Power in the summer. The 28-year-old left at the end of his contract, having been sidelined by previous manager Enzo Maresca in the second half of the promotion season.

He left having scored 61 times in more than 230 games but the AS report says he has not made the anticipated impact under García Pimienta.

Indeed, he has made only five appearances, is yet to score and didn’t even come off the bench in the last two matches with AS citing concerns over his conditioning.

Without him City have relied on the evergreen Jamie Vardy for the most part. Odsonne Edouard has come in on loan but is also yet to impress and Tom Cannon has been allowed to go on loan to Stoke City in the Championship. Patson Daka is working his way back from injury.

Whether he recovers in time to feature against the Foxes has to be in doubt, with Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo not revealing much. Nuno said on Wednesday: “It is a day by day process so let’s see how he is. He is better today, so let’s hope he is even better tomorrow and keeps progressing.”

What is known is that Danilo remains out after an opening day broken ankle and Ibrahim Sangare has been recovering from a hamstring strain for the last month.
