Manchester City want Cole Palmer back at the Etihad: Here’s why
Cole Palmer has been in stunning form as of late. The 22-year-old midfielder is doing great for Chelsea since joining from Man City. The Blues paid a £40 million transfer fee for him. We can safely conclude that he has been worth every penny for them. The midfielder has the highest goal involvements in the Premier League since the beginning of last season. At the same time, he was recently named England’s Player of the Year for 2023-24. Also, he won the Premier League Player of the Month Award for September. We clearly know that the Englishman is far-off from being a one-season wonder.
THE RISE OF COLE PALMER
The 22-year-old is a Man City academy graduate. He would break into the first team in 2020. As per wikipedia, he would go on to make 41 appearances for them, scoring 6 times. Since joining Chelsea, he has been on a whole another level. As per transfermarkt, he has 51 G/A in 54 club appearances. So, naturally, Cole Palmer is the talk of the town in the PL. He already has a contract valid upto 2033 with the Blues. So, pricing him away is not at all going to be an easy job for any top tea

Pep Guardiola is keen to bolster his lineup. Kevin De Bruyne has been at the heart of his squad. But, the 33-year-old made it clear that he would be open to moving away for the right offer. In fact, Al-Nassr are eyeing to sign the Belgian next summer. As a result, Man City need a contingency plan. So, they believe bringing Cole Palmer home to be the ideal option. But, it is not going to be easy. The Sky Blues will have to splurge somewhere around €150 million to sign him. As per caughtoffside, that kind of sum would be difficult to match given the FFP regulations. So, it will be interesting to see if they are able to sign the 22-year-old.
