Exclusive: Millwall in talks with Celtic to fast-track Daniel Kelly deal

Millwall and Celtic are in talks to try and thrash out a deal to bring forward Daniel Kelly’s move to England this summer rather than wait until January, sources have told Football Insider.

 

The Championship club have agreed a pre-contract deal with the 18-year-old that would see him arrive in January, immediately after his Celtic contract expires at the end of December.However, Millwall hope to reach an agreement with the Hoops to move Kelly’s arrival forward by five months.

 

If the two clubs agree, then the central midfielder will be able to move south of the border and kickstart his Millwall career as soon as this month.This would allow Kelly to be integrated into Neil Harris’ team sooner, bolstering his options.

 

The central midfielder has already featured for Celtic’s B team four times in the Lowland league this season, scoring twice and producing one assist

.Millwall kickstarted their Championship campaign with a 3-2 defeat against Watford but followed it up with a midweek win in the EFL Cup.
