Everton headcoach receive a heartbreaking news announcement
Sean Dyche could be replaced by Abel Ferreira if John Textor completes his takeover at Everton, according to Alan Nixon.
The journalist reported via his Patreon page (8 September) that if and when Textor completes his buyout of the Blues from Farhad Moshiri, he will aim to get rid of Dyche and hire Ferreira as head coach.
Ferreira won the Brazilian Serie A title with Palmeiras last season, and with Textor also being the owner of their Brazilian rivals Botafogo, he is keen to work with the Portuguese and wants to bring him to Goodison Park.
Textor’s proposed takeover on Merseyside remains in limbo with the American yet to sell off his 45 per cent stake in Crystal Palace [Sky News, 27 August], but should he eventually take charge, Dyche’s position could be in jeopardy.
Sean Dyche’s job hanging by a thread after Everton update
If Dyche wasn’t already sweating over his job security, the news that Textor could be keen to replace him as soon as he’s through the doors at Goodison Park will only ramp up the pressure on the Toffees boss.
More pressure, however, is the last thing that Dyche and his side need at the moment, as they look to turn around a woeful start to the season which leaves them rock-bottom of the Premier League table.
Dyche’s side have now suffered three straight league defeats in each of the past two campaigns, but the 53-year-old showed his worth to the cause last season, keeping the Blues up despite points deductions.
That leaves a good amount of credit in the bank for Dyche when it comes to talk of sacking him, having more than proven he’s the man to get the struggling club out of the mire when push comes to shove.
