Everton fans should be delighted if Dan Friedkin does appoint title winning manager as Sean Dyche’s replacement

Everton are being linked with a litany of new managers, despite Sean Dyche having yet to lose his job.

The 53-year-old still, by all accounts, retains the backing of the decision-makers at Goodison Park, and would have to do something truly catastrophic over a long period of time to force their hand.

However, with Dan Friedkin closing in on his Everton takeover at last, his position on the former Burnley boss is more unpredictable.

Whether he dismisses him as soon as he gets in charge or waits until his contract expires next summer, so many reports threaten that his days are numbered.

Fortunately, there is one new candidate that has now emerged that should delight fans.

Everton show interest in appointing Maurizio Sarri

If they are to sack Sean Dyche, which some might argue would be unfair after all he has done for the club, enlisting a title-winning manager and tactical pioneer would certainly not be frowned upon.

And, that is seemingly what they hope to do given Everton want to appoint Maurizio Sarri.

The 65-year-old, who has enjoyed successful spells at Napoli, Chelsea and Juventus, winning the Serie A with the latter, is widely celebrated for his unflinching philosophy that prioritises attractive football.

Should Friedkin manage to convince him to return to the Premier League with Everton, this will be one almighty coup to kickstart his reign on Merseyside.

What is Maurizio Sarri’s style of play?

Whilst it might be a fearful notion for some Evertonians to read, Sarri’s style of play would need a serious overhaul of the current squad.

However, it would certainly be a beneficial one, hopefully set to drag them into the modern age with a style of football far more aligned with what the fanbase craves.

Throughout their history, Everton have been famed for a solid backline and an aggressive, high-pressing system.
