No one is more fitting for a half-n-half scarf at tomorrow’s Champions League match than Murdo MacLeod.

The midfielder spent significant time with both clubs but more recently has been beset by health issues but has typically battled through.

As a player there was no-one stronger than MacLeod in the middle of the park, starring for a vintage Celtic side between 1978 and 1987 that created memories that lasted a lifetime.

In the summer of 1987 he made the move to Borussia Dortmund, as luck would have it he was soon back at Celtic Park in the UEFA Cup with Dortmund the first ever German side to be drawn against Celtic.
