DONE DEAL :Rangers EX-player signs a two years contract with Rangers..

Ex-Rangers striker Kris Boyd knows what it takes to be a success at Ibrox.

 

The former Ibrox poacher won six major honours at Rangers and helped the club to a UEFA Cup Final during his first spell in Govan.

Whilst Boyd’s second Rangers stint leaves a lot to be desired, the hitman is now making a name for himself as a pundit on the Scottish football circuit.

 

And speaking as Rangers begin to stabilise following a rocky start to the season, Kris Boyd has appeared to change his tune on one of the club’s most popular summer arrivals.

Kris Boyd ‘unconvinced’ by Jefte

Brazilian left-back Jefte has been one of the most positive arrivals at Rangers this season.

The Ibrox side tried and failed to bring the Fluminense talent into Glasgow in January but got their man when Jefte’s loan deal at APOEL expired in June.

 

Philippe Clement even hailed the recruitment team for finding the Brazilian and claimed that Jefte’s value is already ‘much bigger’ than the amount the Gers paid.

 

Kris Boyd too commented on Jefte’s form earlier in the week, claiming that the Brazilian has ‘got something’ on the left-hand side.

But now the ex-Rangers striker appears to have changed his tune, claiming that a new left-back could be on the cards in the January transfer window.

 

Speaking amid claims from interim chairman John Gilligan that Clement will be backed in the transfer market, Boyd shone a spotlight on new signings Jefte and Robin Propper.

“I know it’s been four clean sheets in five for Rangers,” Boyd told Sky Sports. “But I still look defensively and think there could be improvement there.

“I think Jefte; he puts in some lovely balls but I’m yet to be convinced as a natural left-back shall we say.

 

“And (Robin) Propper’s come in. Look, he’s done OK. Whether it’s the long-term answer for Rangers on that side, I’m not so sure.”

 

Rangers need to find Europa League left-back ‘solution’

Rangers manager Philippe Clement has spoken about the need to find a ‘solution’ at left-back due ahead of the Europa League clash with Malmo.

 

The Gers will be without Brazilian left-back Jefte for the game, the 20-year-old serving a one-match suspension after being sent off in the Champions League QR3 defeat to Dynamo Kyiv.
