Done Deal: Celtic plan to sell Nicolas-Gerrit Kühn and sign replacements just now…

Johan Mjallby reckons Celtic will demand a fee in the region of £30m if they are to sell Nicolas Kuhn in January.

It comes after reports suggest that the in-form winger is being tracked by Premier League sides Fulham and Brentford with the January transfer window rapidly approaching. The 24-year-old has been a revelation for the Premiership leaders so far this season scoring 10 goals and provided 11 assists across all competitions – including an eye-catching display in the Champions League against RB Leipzig.

With Brendan Rodgers’ eyeing domestic dominance as well as progress from the league phase in Europe’s elite competition he is unlikely to want to part with the star of the season so far – but Sky Germany report that Fulham and Brentford “have already inquired about” the wide man and “are monitoring his situation”. It has previously been reported that Celtic value him at €10million (£8.4million) after his £3million arrival from Rapid Vienna last January, with the player under contract until until 2029.

However, ex Celt Mjallby reckons a bid of similar value to what Brighton paid for Matt O’Riley could force the hand of the Hoops board. Pressed on what kind of bid it would take for the Scottish champions to sell Kuhn in January, Mjallby told The Scottish Football Social Club: “I’m pretty sure they will do everything to keep him.

“He is on fire and in a way he is like a new signing this summer. For the first six months it was stop-start for him, he had this tooth problem and didn’t really show what he is all about. But he is perfect for the way Brendan Rodgers wants his team to play as well.

“It’s not going to happen. Maybe if they come in with a ridiculous bid – we are talking about Matt O’Riley figures – but if it’s going to happen, it’s going to happen next summer.”
